Nutritional Management Associates LLC is a leader in educational and consulting services for feeding and swallowing disorders (dysphagia) in infants, children and adults with developmental disabilities. Our services provide a best practices, evidence-based approach that benefits from our ongoing familiarity with the current literature and our extensive personal experiences in research, teaching, professional policy, forensics, administration, evaluation, treatment, and consulting in dysphagia. Our consulting services have been provided nationally and internationally in the full range of treatment and educational settings for early childhood and developmental (life-long) disability. We have developed effective systems, programs, and procedures for managing individuals and groups of individuals with feeding and swallowing disorders (dysphagia and unsafe eating behaviors). These services include policy and procedure for protecting the health and safety of clients, enhancing quality of life for individuals with dysphagia and providing family and staff training for managing individual, challenging cases. We have developed specialized assessment tools specifically designed for and tested and validated on adults and children with a full range of developmental disabilities. These tools are used widely to facilitate the management of populations of individuals who have a high prevalence of dysphagia and related swallowing and feeding disorders and to facilitate the management of individual patients. Continuing professional education is integrated into our work. We strive to enhance the skills of professionals and care givers as a means for improving overall care. As part of our consulting we provide in-service experiences for staff and families by conducting dysphagia clinics, informal discussion and/or formal lecture presentations. Our work is individualized to meet the specified needs of the contracting agency and its patients or students. In addition to consulting to agencies, we provide continuing education workshops in the community to professionals and families who are interested in dysphagia management for infants, children and adults with disability.
